Strategic Teaching's provides audits for schools that are struggling to meet Adequate Yearly Progress and for successful schools committed to improvement. Using some combination of data analysis; staff, parent, and student surveys; principal and staff interviews; classroom walk-throughs and more extensive observations; we determine: |

· Whether the school environment is safe, orderly, and supported by building-wide discipline programs and classroom management strategies. · The degree to which standards have penetrated the classroom, including posting standards and objectives, alignment of daily instruction to standards, and involvement of students in their own progress toward meeting the standards. · The quality of the teaching related to teacher knowledge of content and pedagogy and the effectiveness of their use of instructional materials and resources. · The effectiveness of programs and structures designed to support students who struggle to meet the demands of the curriculum. · The extent to which professional development has quality of implementation, coherence of offerings, alignment to building goals and teacher needs, as well as the results in terms of changes in teaching and improvement in student achievement. · The strength of the leadership as measured against the ISSLC Standards. · Whether time allocation and school budgets align with School Improvement Plans. · The amount of parent and community involvement and support. |
