Jody Guarino is a National Board Certified Teacher with an Early Childhood Generalist Certificate who has a passion for connecting current research to classroom instruction. She has spent the past eleven years in education, working with early childhood through university students with an emphasis in elementary education. She has extensive experience with standards based assessment, curriculum and instruction.
In addition to the accomplishments listed above, Jody also
- Developed and instructed numerous workshops and seminars on parent education, differentiation, and effective teaching strategies in math and language arts;
- Presented workshops for professional organizations including the California Kindergarten Association and the United States Department of Education;
- Had her presentation "Standards Based Differentiated Math" featured on the Panhandle Area Educational Consortium web-site, a site offering Staff Development opportunities to teachers across the country.
- Designed and taught Continuing Education Courses for University of San Diego;
- Been a contributing author to district curriculum in the areas of Word Study, Language Arts and Math;
- Served as a master teacher and mentor teacher;
- Serves as a Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA) support provider; and
- Serves as a Capistrano Standards Support Specialist.
Ms. Guarino is a University of Phoenix faculty member. She
holds a Master of Science Degree (M.S.) in Education from California State
University at Fullerton and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A.) in Communications
and Sociology from the University of Southern California.
