East Allen County Schools We conducted an alignment study of the match among the written, taught, and tested curriculum in East Allen County Schools. In addition to identifying gaps and redundancies within the 3 components, we looked at the presence and frequency of best practices used in classrooms across the district. We disaggregated the data by school, grade span, teacher years of experience, and content area. Three years after the initial study, we returned to East Allen to repeat the classroom component of the study. East Allen was in the third year of implementing a professional development initiative and wanted to determine its effectiveness. Comparing both sets of data, we were able to clarify the extent to which the initiative had impacted classroom practice. |
