Janice Beaver


Janice's numerous talents and interests are reflected in her multi-faceted career. Armed with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Bridgewater College, she spent several years teaching Spanish in both middle and high school. Her Masters Equivalency and Advanced Teaching Certificate from the state of Maryland allowed her to serve as an Enrichment Teacher for gifted and talented students and as an Gifted and Talented Resource Teacher, providing support to secondary teachers. During this time she honed her knowledge and skills related to differentiated instruction and shared this expertise through a variety of trainings as well as by coaching and mentoring teachers.

This experience developed her interested in and background for ensuring that all students have the support they need to succeed. As Program Manager for Academic Intervention, she organized teacher training sessions, after school and summer intervention programs for students struggling in mathematics and reading, and funding for intervention programs for English Language Learners.

Always one for new challenges, Janice accepted and succeeded in leadership positions including department chairperson, Foreign Language Curriculum Specialist, acting Coordinator of Gifted/Talented/Advanced Programs, and Program Manager.
