Michael Killik


Mr. Killik, an in-classroom teacher at the Garrett Morgan Cleveland School of Science, continues to improve the teaching of science to the middle grades by participating as the primary facilitator to a Study Group focusing on Inquiry-Based Science within the Cleveland Municipal School District (CMSD).
Concurrent with these activities, Michael’s achievements and organizational involvements are as follows:
  • Provided technical guidance for the “Videos on Demand” series for WVIZ-TV,
  • Technology instructor at Cleveland State University,
  • Participated in the development and installation of a “Standards-based” report card online reporting system,
  • Current member of CMSD Teacher Desktop Committee,
  • Member of the State of Ohio Rangefinder Proficiency Committee member,

  • Presenter for CMSD science Subject Area Specialist Meetings,
  • President-elect for the Cleveland Regional Council of Science Teachers (CRCST),
  • District Director of the Science Education Council of Ohio (SECO),
  • Member of the National Science Teacher Association (NSTA) Committee on Middle Level Science Teaching advisory board, and
  • Authored the CMSD 6th grade science “Cashing in on Success” questions.
Mr. Killik holds a Masters in Education in Curriculum Design, Certificate in Grades 1–8 Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Science in Education (Cum Laude) from Cleveland State University. He is a member of Kiwanis International and a Board member of “Wigs for Kids” charity.
