Mike Lynch During his twenty years of teaching language arts and social studies in grades 7–12, Mike focused particularly on writing process instruction — the basis of his doctoral work — and assessment and Dimensions of Learning. During his work as generalist in a challenged middle school, he used this knowledge to work extensively with unit-based planning strongly connected to Marzano's work and to classroom assessment. As a Central Office Reading/Language Arts Specialist, he broadened the scope of his interest to include content area reading. In addition to his work within the district, he taught teacher pre- and in-service courses on that topic. As District Coordinator of Middle School Language Arts and Secondary Reading, he continues to infuse the district with his expertise and to install best practices in classrooms across the district. His current passion is working with adults as a staff developer, teaching teachers and student teachers, and guiding teachers and faculties on school-based projects. |
