Maryann Wickett


Maryann Wickett has spent twenty-eight years at the district level as an elementary classroom teacher and math mentor for K–12 mathematics teachers. She has been responsible for the development of district K-6 mathematics curriculum, district assessment tools in mathematics grades K–6 and the over site of K–5 mathematics textbooks adoption. In recognition of her outstanding teaching skills, she has received the following awards:
  • 1996 Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching;
  • Who‚s Who in American Education;
  • California Teacher Recognition Program-Johns Hopkins University;
  • 1985 GSDMC Outstanding Classroom Mathematics Teacher.

In addition to her numerous district inservice activities, Maryann has provided inservice and staff development for the San Diego Mathematics Project, Equity in Mathematics Education Project, Equity in Science Education Project; San Diego, CA County Office of Education, California Science Implementation Network (CSIN), North County Professional Development Federation, various local, state, regional, and national mathematics conferences, and Marilyn Burns Education Associates.

Maryann is also a prolific writer. A list of her most recent publications includes:
