Paula Duckett


Paula Duckett is a career educator with an administrative background supported by mathematics expertise and related federal experience. She has extensive experience as an effective presenter with excellent written and communication skills. During Paula’s impressive career, spent largely in the District of Columbia Public Schools, she has held positions as:
  • Assistant Principal;
  • Elementary Mathematics Content Specialist;
  • Mathematics Specialist/Computer Lab Coordinator, and
  • Elementary school teacher.

Additionally, Paula extended her professional activities to include:
  • Technology Trainer for Texas Instruments;
  • Program Director, National Science Foundation, (NSF) Division of Educational System Reform;
  • Adjunct Consultant, Trinity College, Washington, DC;
  • Presenter, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Professional Development Academy and the National Alliance of Black School Educators Conferences;
  • Member, National Educational Standards and Testing Task Force;
  • Member, SRI, International Kids Thinking About Problem Solving Advisory Panel;
  • Member, University of Maryland Connected Mathematics Advisory Panel;
  • Member, PBS Math Channel Advisory Panel;
  • Member, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Arithmetic Teacher Readers’ Advisory Panel, and Educational Materials Committee;

Paula’s expertise and commitment have been recognized with the following awards:

  • Superintendent’s School Incentive Award

She received her B.A in sociology from George Washington University and her MA in education from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. She also holds an Interstate School Leaders Licensure Assessment and an Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership.
